Chibi Chuu

Privacy Policy · Effective 12 October 2026 · App ID com.hexhound.chibichuu

In short: the game collects no personal data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The only time it talks to the internet is when Google Play handles the optional purchase that unlocks the full game.

Who we are

Chibi Chuu ("the game") is made by HEXHOUND ("we"). This policy explains what happens to information when you play it on Android, and also on PC and in a web browser.

What we collect

Nothing. The game does not collect, transmit, sell or share personal information or any other data about you or your device. We have no servers that receive anything from it. It contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software, and it does not use your advertising ID, location, contacts, camera or microphone.

What stays on your device

To let you keep playing, the game saves a few files in its own private storage on your phone: your settings (music and sound volumes, the music switch, the chibi outline, light detail and the last difficulty you picked), your best scores and your top runs in Records (score, date, the biggest chibi you made and the photo of that run), whether you have found the shark, and whether you have bought the full game. These files never leave your device through the game. You can erase them by clearing the app's storage in your Android settings, or by uninstalling the game.

When you tap Save photo on the end-of-run photo, the game saves that picture to your gallery, in the Chibi Chuu album. It is your picture: it stays in your gallery after you uninstall the game, and you can share or delete it like any other photo. The game does not read anything else from your gallery.

The full-game purchase

The game is free to play: Classic is unlimited and the other modes can be tried for a minute per run. Unlocking the full game is an optional one-time purchase made through Google Play Billing. Google Play shows the purchase screen and handles the payment; we never see your payment details. Google Play tells the game whether your account owns the full game, and the game keeps only that answer on your device (so it stays unlocked offline). That purchase is processed by Google under the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Play Terms of Service. This is why the game has the Android internet permission; it uses it for nothing else.

Android backup

If you have turned on backup in your Android settings, Android may include the game's saved files in your device backup to your Google account and restore them on a new phone. That backup is run by Google under the Google Privacy Policy; we never receive or see it. You can turn it off in your Android settings.

On PC and in the browser

The PC version saves the same kind of files in its own folder on your computer (%APPDATA%\Chibi Chuu on Windows, ~/.local/share/Chibi Chuu on Linux) and makes no network connections; buying it on Steam happens in Steam, under Valve's privacy policy. The web demo keeps its saves in your browser's storage for its page; the page is hosted by its store (for example itch.io) under that site's own privacy policy. In the demos, the buttons that lead to the full game open the store's page in your browser.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13. As it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Changes

If a future version changes what the game does with data, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change.
